NSW Governor visits our Lime Farm

As part of her visit to the region, NSW Governor Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley and her husband Mr Dennis Wilson visited the LeaderLife Lime farm at Narromine.

Young people from our Social Enterprise, Life Skills and Skillbuilders programs hosted the visit. They spent time getting to know Her Excellency by hosting ‘circle work’, LeaderLife’s way of checking in with each other. Everyone had to rate their day out of 10 (1 is awful, 10 is amazing) followed by two questions. ‘What does LeaderLife mean to you’ and ‘What is your dream’? Some said LeaderLife meant ‘family’ to them, others said it meant hope and community. Some young ones said they dream of becoming a vet and going to the army. Her Excellency shared her very valuable tips about signing up for the army.

After the introductions, everyone enjoyed some lime inspired afternoon tea, a sausage sizzle and johnny cakes on the fire. It was a great experience for everyone and a great opportunity for the young people to talk about their experience with LeaderLife and showcase everything they have achieved at the lime farm.

Her Excellency was gifted a bottle of lime cordial made by our young people, which was named in her honour; “Excellency”.
