We made the national news! The Australian weekend edition to be exact.

A couple of weeks back, Bernie Shakeshaft, Australia’s 2020 Local Hero of the Year and founder of BackTrack in Armidale, generously rang and said “how would you feel about having a yack with a great journo bloke from Sydney” we said “If it’s a positive story to help kids out... we’d love to do it!”

On Thursday 9th July we welcomed Nikki Short, photographer for The Australian newspaper, out to our Soil2Soul lime farm operation at Lime Grove, 40km outside of Dubbo.

An incredibly talented freelance press photographer, Nikki made the journey to meet our Soil2Soul young fellas, record her time with us and learn about the sacred work we do at LeaderLife.

Nikki’s sense of humour, generosity and open heart made the meeting a rewarding one for all of us.

And, her gorgeous photos of our Soil2Soul fellas accompanied a raw and beautifully written article by journalist Greg Bearup in the weekend edition of The Australian (11/12 July). Both Nikki and Greg shone a light on the courage and resilience of our young people and the strong support we receive from our Dubbo community.

You can read Greg’s article and see more of Nikki’s photos here.

Thank you to our young fellas Hank, Jamari, Wes and Bert who featured front and centre; who are just some of the kids who inspire us and teach us something new, every single day.

Thank you Bernie and BackTrack for believing in the dream.

Thank you Nikki, Greg and The Australian for sharing our story, so that others can be inspired by our young fellas’ journeys and moved to consciously support young people in their own communities.
